A Higher Calling

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk -- not as unwise people but as wise -- making the most of the time, because the days are evil. - Ephesians 5:15-16

The first three chapters of Paul's letter to the Ephesian church address what we should believe. The last three chapters then proscribe how we should live out that belief, or as he put it, how we should walk.

Some walk through this life completely unaware of all that is going on around them. If this condition becomes severe, then a person could be labeled mentally handicapped. There are those, and let it not be us, who likewise walk through life "spiritually" handicapped, completely unaware of God's handiwork.

All who follow Christ serve a higher, eternal purpose that supersedes any temporal, earthly achievement. Open your heart to what the Lord wishes to do through you today!

Those who claim to know Christ were re-born for a higher purpose than this, let us not waste it.

And people who do not know the Lord ask why in the world we waste our lives as missionaries. They forget that they too are expending their lives -- and when the bubble has burst they will have nothing of eternal significance to show for the years they have wasted. - Nate Saint
