You must keep the Israelites from their uncleanness, so that they do not die by defiling My tabernacle that is among them. - Leviticus 15:31
I once wrote that the responsibility of a pastor is to do or say that which God asks or commands and one thing that God commands is that we all protect or guard the holiness of His name. His name is holy, just as He is holy.
Sometimes God's people do not perceive the danger or seriousness of their actions or attitudes, but pastors (who walk with God) know what might happen if the action or attitude persists. To ignore what they see is a serious dereliction of their duty as the shepherd of God's flock that is under their care. The good shepherd, or pastor, protects the sheep, even if they don't know they need it!
Thank God for good shepherds even when they must "wound" in order to keep us from greater danger.
The shepherd drives the wolf from the sheep's throat, for which the sheep thanks the shepherd as his liberator, while the wolf denounces him for the same act as the destroyer of liberty. - Abraham Lincoln
