"They don't need to go away," Jesus told them. "You give them something to eat." - Matthew 14:16
At the first miraculous feeding of the multitude, Jesus challenged the disciples to provide for the needs of the crowd. Their expected response was much as I expect ours would be, "We can't! We don't have the resources (time, talent, or money."
As Christ-followers gathered into local churches, we are often faced with overwhelming needs, whether in our own communities or around the world. Faced with such a dilemma, our first response may be to "send them away," because we feel incapable or inadequate. Let's remember, however, that it's not our resources that will meet the hunger and thirst of those who surround us, it is Christ's power and His supply is unlimited.
Just surrender all at your disposal and watch the Lord multiply it for His purposes.
Sometimes God is more subtle than the world. He often whispers. If we slow down and listen, we will hear His voice. - Kevin Harney
