For His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. - 2 Peter 1:3

"Can't never could," is an old proverb of uncertain origin and it implies that if an attempt is never made, if a negative attitude persists in a person's life, then nothing will ever be done. For example, naysayers told the Wright Brothers that man could not fly. I have also read that many believed a man could not run a mile in less than four minutes, until Jim Ryan did it. Years ago, Paul Eshleman (producer of The JESUS Film) stated that there should be a plan, one plan for the global church to finish the Great Commission. An agency leader, upon hearing his remark, replied, "You can't do that!" Of course, this didn't keep Paul (and his team) from trying.
In ministry, I have often met people who struggled mightily with an addiction claiming that they just could not quit. Listen, if a true follower of the one true God cannot live fully for Him, then His Word is a lie and Christ is a liar. Everything, and Peter means every single thing that is required for life and godliness has been given to us who believe.
The questions is, "Will we?"
Alleged impossibilities are opportunities for our capacities to be stretched. - Chuck Swindoll
