Whenever he enters the sanctuary, Aaron is to carry the names of Israel's sons over his heart on the breastpiece of decisions, as a continual reminder before the LORD. - Exodus 28:29
Here, the writer speaks of the ministry of Israel's high priest in the Old Testament tabernacle. As high priest, Aaron represented all the Israelites before God. He was, in effect, Israel in the flesh.
In the eternal court of heaven, we have an advocate. His name is Jesus. He is also our High Priest. He carries before His Father the names of all those whom He has purchased with His own blood. Jesus became sin in the flesh in order that when judgment comes (and it IS coming), His Father will see in His Son the names of those He came to save.
Jesus did not come to abolish the Law, but to completely fulfill it. As you read the Old Testament, look for your Savior. He is everywhere.
Put your nose into the Bible every day. It is your spiritual food. And then share it. Make a vow not to be a lukewarm Christian. - Kirk Cameron
