Fight Only for Jesus

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. - 1 Corinthians 3:6

In the church at Corinth there was a dispute among differing factions. Some said they were following Paul, others said they were following Peter, and still others were following Apollos. Paul wrote to remind them that neither he, nor Peter, nor Apollos was important.

The only foundation for the church was, is, and will always be Jesus Christ.

Why do we allow politics to enter Christ's church? Why do quarrels arise among us? Could it be that it is easier to put our trust in men than the Son of God? That it is easier to trust in ourselves rather than God?

Disputes are not wrong. They will always be among us, but it is definitely wrong to subvert peace for a point of personal pride. We must always be sure that the Person for whom we "fight" is Jesus.

Wise men do not quarrel with each other. - Danish Proverb
