Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. Therefore it was also credited to him as righteousness. - Romans 4:19-22
Paul wrote that Abraham was "fully assured" when it came to God's promises. Can you say the same? Where does your assurance lie? What is your basis or foundation for living?
Is it your work? In this economy, probably not.
Is it your health? That can be pretty fragile, too, huh?
How about your relationships? Sadly, sometimes faithfulness fails.
In spite of all these uncertainties, there is one thing we can count on. "What God has promised, He is also able to perform." If you trust God and His Word then there is no reason to worry. God is powerful enough to keep each and every one of His promises, and the greatest of these is the promise of life in His Son. Believe and He will make you righteous forever. Of this one thing, you may be "fully assured!"
Faith is the confidence, the assurance, the enforcing truth, the knowing. - Robert Collier
