Now if I have indeed found favor in Your sight, please teach me Your ways, and I will know You and find favor in Your sight. Now consider that this nation is Your people. - Exodus 33:13
What is the evidence of God's grace?
Certainly, there is much to be found. For example, there are the gifts of the Spirit (each Christ-follower uniquely endowed for His service and for the accomplishment of His purposes). Another example of grace would be freedom from sin. The Christ-follower is free from sin's slavery. He has a choice. Of course, an obvious evidence of God's grace is the fact that He gives more time for the peoples of the world to turn to Him.
Moses added for us another benefit and evidence of God's grace. He said that because of God's favor (grace) toward him, he was able to be taught the Lord's ways and to know Him and His purposes intimately. For Moses, and for us, knowing God's will and purposes is definitely further evidence of His grace!
There have been some times in my life when I desperately needed to have clear direction from God. God's grace is always evident in the revelation of His purposes and desires. His word gives consistent general direction for our lives (if we take advantage of it) and sometimes He even speaks directly to our hearts, confirming or affirming His desires. This is grace!
Whether His purposes are revealed before or after a decision is made, we see His grace in the revelation.
The Bible is proved to be a revelation from God, by the reasonableness and holiness of its precepts; all its commands, exhortations, and promises having the most direct tendency to make men wise, holy, and happy in themselves, and useful to one another. - Adam Clarke
