So they said to each other, "Weren't our hearts ablaze within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining the Scriptures to us?" - Luke 24:32
When was the last time your heart was "ablaze?" No, I'm not talking about post-Thanksgiving reflux!
After the two disciples had spoken with Jesus on the road to Emmaus, they realized that their hearts had been "on fire." It seems that the spark of truth in their hearts, that had almost been extinguished by the harsh reality of Jesus death on the Cross, became a raging inferno under the breath of Divine influence.
Is it possible that the harsh realities of this world have reduced God's truth to a mere spark in your own heart?
Walk with your Savior. Read and listen to His Word. Let the gentle breath of the Divine blow on your own worn soul. Embrace His Body, His church. It is easy for the heart to grow cold when we neglect the fellowship of the saints. The spark is there!
If you do these things, you, too, can begin to blaze for Christ again.
Faith is the highest passion in a human being. Many in every generation may not come that far, but none comes further. - Soren Kierkegaard
