Judgment Is His

... when suffering He did not threaten, but committed Himself to the One who judges justly. - 1 Peter 2:23

Certainly the most "human" response when attacked is to pronounce judgment on your attacker. "I'll get you for this," would be a common thought or remark. We have all said it, or at least thought it.

If anyone ever had the right to make such a statement, it would have been Jesus Christ. Of course, while he had the "right," it would have been fleshly to react in that way and He never acted in the flesh. Jesus was always fully controlled by the Holy Spirit. He knew that any injustice would eventually be righted by His Father who is perfectly righteous and just.

Judgment belongs to God, not us (though authority established by God hold may be His instrument). If we will remember this and by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit appropriate the mind of Christ, then God will receive the glory in each and every injustice we face.

While seeking revenge, dig two graves - one for yourself. - Douglas Horton
