For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, while we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. - Titus 2:11-13
Grace is a uniquely Christian idea. Neither Buddhism, Hinduism, nor Islam speak of it or offer it. We only see it in and through Jesus Christ, our Savior.
As we understand the Scriptures, we come to know that we are saved by grace through faith and equipped by that same grace to accomplish all that God desires. In the words of Paul, we even see that grace is also our teacher, for it instructs us in how to live in a way that pleases our Savior until He comes again.
We are saved, equipped, and even instructed by grace. No wonder it is so amazing and no small wonder that we worship (by grace) the Christ who offers it.
Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us. - Abraham Lincoln
