When His family heard this, they set out to restrain Him, because they said, "He's out of His mind." - Mark 3:21
I have made some "crazy" decisions in my life, and the majority of them involved a desire to be obedient to Christ!
For example, it was crazy to leave my career and enroll in Seminary, and it was crazy to move the family to New York in the dead of winter with no job (just an assurance that God wanted us there), and it was crazy to go to Kenya on a short-term mission trip less than a month after 9/11, and it was crazier still to pick up at 51 and move to Africa in January 2009.
Did such reckless obedience end there? It did not, but I am comforted in the fact that such behavior is normal for a Christ-follower because our Savior and Lord was considered to be out of His mind, too.
Be biblical. Do life the Lord's way. Folks may look at you like you are strange and may even ridicule you, but just get over it. Often what is "God-normal" will appear to be "ab-normal," but the truth is that all of us who follow Christ are just "normally crazy."
