Likewise, you younger men, be subject to the elders. And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. - 1 Peter 5:5

This year, the class of 1975 will celebrate its 50th high school class reunion. Thanks to Facebook, I have been able to keep in touch with many of those with whom I attended, but, my how we have all changed! There is a lot more white hair and multiple grandkids! Including my own!
Of course, getting old isn't all bad. When I traveled extensively and met those from other cultures, I was often offered the best seat. Unfortunately, it might have been because I looked like I needed to sit down! Non-Western cultures are more likely to value age, so at least overseas, my value was going up. In one sense, my "maturity" had become an asset and a platform upon which the message I brought carried a little more weight.
So, I sit here this morning, stroking my ever-whitening beard, sharing what little wisdom I have left and thinking, how blessed I am and have been. Yet, I remain nothing without Christ.
Maturity is the time of life when, if you had the time, you'd have the time of your life. - Anonymous
