In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say, "We are good-for-nothing slaves; we've only done our duty." - Luke 17:10
Are you "ordinary?"
I can honestly say that it is something I have never really aspired to be. Being "ordinary" just doesn't sound very exciting. I mean, who wants to be truly "ordinary?"
Unless, of course, you want to be "ordinary" for Christ.
You see, if a person is "ordinary" for Jesus, they will be nothing less than "extra-ordinary" in this world. Attributes or characteristics that mark the life of a Spirit-filled Christ-follower (such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (i.e. "fruit of the Spirit") are not considered normal or "ordinary" in everyday life. Sadly, they may not also be as normal as they should be for a lot of Christians either!
Here is a great motto for us all: BE ORDINARY! It may not be glamorous, but it is good and to be ordinary for Christ is not as easy as it sounds.
You can tell a lot about a fellow's character by his way of eating jellybeans. - Ronald Reagan
