Say Much?

dave57pope

YHWH continued to appear in Shiloh, because there He revealed Himself to Samuel by His word. And Samuel's words came to all Israel. - 1 Samuel 3:21-4:1

I once heard someone say (of another), "He sure has a lot to say, but in the end, he doesn't really say much."

How about you? What is your message? Maybe you're a pastor-teacher, a teacher, or just someone who likes to talk. The point is that everyone has a message of some sort.

When Samuel served as a judge and prophet he would often bring the word of God to the people of Israel, but only after he had met with God at Shiloh. Be careful to notice that Samuel did not bring the word of God until after he had spent time with God. First, Samuel was with God, then he spoke for God. Good practice, amen?.

Our message needs to be from God and we can only receive a message from God if we spend time with Him, listening. The world does not necessarily need to hear from us, but they sure need to hear from Him. So, if you feel like you must say it, at least "say much of Him."

We need a reason for speaking, we need none for keeping silent. - Pierre Nicole
