How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it. - Matthew 7:14
The way of mankind is the way of destruction. It has been so since that fateful moment when Adam willfully chose his own desires over his Creator's. Often mankind's self-destructive tendencies can be brutal and barbaric. At other times, they may be more subtle and civilized, but no less damaging. This is the "broad" way.
The "narrow" way is different. Because the way of life is narrow, it must be sought or it will be entirely missed. The narrow way (the way of life) only exists because of God's grace. Would I, could I have found it on my own? Absolutely not. God's grace had to lead me to it. For some, like myself, God's grace (seen in a heritage of faith) presented the path to eternal life with Christ, but most of the world's inhabitants lack such a foundation and therefore lack the opportunity. We must go and tell them or they will never hear and never see.
Today, you may meet someone who has realized that the "broad way" is destroying their life. By God's amazing grace, show them the "gate."
