The Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but one thing is necessary." - Luke 10:41-42
Are you ADHD? I have been accused of having an attention deficit. Do I? I don't really know. Ooh, what's that? Shiny!
In truth, I think we all have a problem paying attention, particularly to our Lord. Jesus told Martha that only one thing was necessary and it was to spend time with Him. Sometimes, like you, I have a tough time focusing on my relationship Christ. Like Martha, I am "worried and upset about many things" and these things hinder my ability to focus on the Savior.
Is anything interfering with your "attention" on Jesus? Your work, your finances, your family, or your ministry? Spiritually speaking, we can all have a little (or sometimes a lot of) deficit when it comes to being attentive to God, but the reasons for our "attention deficit" are not that complicated.
Perhaps while God may be truly worthy of our attention, we sometimes, honestly, just don't think He is.
I never knew how to worship until I knew how to love. - Henry Ward Beecher
