The biblical account of the Israelite exodus from Egypt informs us that God sent His covenant people down an alternate road to the Red Sea, because He knew they would turn back to Egypt once they began to face the overwhelming forces of the Philistines (Ex. 13:17). We also know that the Red Sea was the formidable barrier that God used to destroy the entire Egyptian army. Could God have wiped out the Philistines as easily as He parted the sea? Of course, but the Red Sea served two purposes.
You see, once the sea walls collapsed and the Egyptians were drowned, the path for any return by Israel to Egypt was also closed. The barrier that had once been before them was now behind them and no matter how discouraged they might become in the future, there was just no going back.
We're all tempted from time-to-time to return to life as it was before meeting our Savior, but God has (by His grace) prevented this from occurring. All those who claim Christ have passed through a spiritual "Red Sea," ground that will never again be lost and that never again be retread.
I don't know what your "Red Sea" looks like, but God sure does, so thank Him, for you have received "the grace of not going back."
