The Most Dangerous Person Alive

So when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Who is it you want me to release for you—Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Messiah?" - Matthew 27:17

Pilate gave the crowd a choice: Barabbas or Jesus. Faced with this decision, the crowd decided to set Barabbas (a type of savior/rebel/deliverer) free and nail the true Savior to a cross.

Which "savior" would you have chosen?

Often we choose the "savior" that we have personally created and can personally control. For the crowd, it seemed they knew what they had in Barabbas. He was a sure thing. No surprises and no expectations. If things went wrong with him, they could just turn him back over to the authorities. This, of course, would not be possible with "Jesus who is called (and was) Messiah." He was the Savior of the world who could not be killed or taken unless He allowed it to happen. He was, and is, the most dangerous person you could ever meet.

You will be faced with many choices in your life. Who will you choose as savior? Will it be one of your own making or the One who made you?

When you take the Bible literally, for what it says, you have to come back to the fact that there is only one way of salvation; there's only one Savior. - Tim LaHaye
