Solomon rested with his fathers and was buried in the city of his father David. His son Rehoboam became king in his place. - 2 Chronicles 9:31

Death comes to us all and one day it came to King Solomon.
When a person pursues the ministry with all their heart, they undoubtedly wish that it will never end. Even with all of the inherent difficulties, struggles, and challenges that any ministry presents, the joys of victory and the differences made give the needed inspiration and desire to finish what has been started. Most of us even hope that our ministry will continue beyond our years and remain fruitful until Christ returns. Yet, we must ask ourselves, are we doing anything about it?
For a ministry to keep going it will need another generation of leaders to give it guidance. Solomon apparently forgot this little detail and the result was an incompetent leader and a divided kingdom.
Do you currently lead a ministry? Is it all about you or is it all about God and His Kingdom? If you truly care about God's work, then I beg you to give your time to the preparation of the next generation of leaders. While you will live forever, you won't be living here, and someone will need to carry on.
If you are too busy to mentor, then you are probably selfish and therefore disqualified to lead.
Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction. - John C. Crosby
