... this man is My chosen instrument to carry My name before Gentiles, kings, and the sons of Israel. - Acts 9:15
These words were spoken by the Lord to Ananias, the man instructed to assist and baptize Saul. It is significant to note that while the work of Saul's conversion was performed by Christ alone, the process of preparation for ministry involved others. While God could have placed Saul into His service without anyone's help, He decreed that His Body, His church should be involved.
We see this same biblical principle alive today. It is this "interconnectedness" that makes it possible for new Christ-followers to be raised up within a fellowship of other believers and ultimately find their place of service in the Kingdom; therefore, we must involve ourselves in the process both as learners and leaders. We grow together!
It is a lesson that Saul/Paul would never forget. Just ask Silas, Timothy, Aguila, Priscilla, and the rest.
The Bible knows nothing of solitary religion. - John Wesley
