So Abram moved his camp to Hebron and settled near the oak grove belonging to Mamre. There he built another altar to YHWH. – Genesis 13:18
Worship is both an activity and an attitude.
For example, last Sunday I led a "worship service" and this Sunday, I intend to do it again. My desire is that while I am there, I will indeed "worship." Meanwhile, during a normal week, I find myself involved in ministry activities and I also see this "work" as "worship." As Abram prepared to settle in the land that God had promised to him, he had to stop and rest along the way and it seems that at many of the places he stopped, he also built an altar to the Lord. In other words, Abram worshiped everywhere he went.
We, like Abram, are on a journey and this journey has had (and will have) many stops, starts, valleys, and peaks along the way. Yet, in every place in time, life, or geography that our Father leads, He expects us to "build an altar" to His glory and grace.
Wherever you are today, whatever you find yourself doing, be sure to worship while you are there.
You'll always stay young if you live honestly, eat slowly, sleep sufficiently, work industriously, and worship faithfully. – Unknown
