Moses said, “Please, Lord, send someone else.” - Exodus 4:13
In a God-induced revelation, Isaiah heard God asking, "Who should I send? Who will go for Us?" and then replied, "Here I am. Send me." Hundreds of years earlier, Moses entered the very presence of that same God, heard His command to deliver Israel from 440 years of slavery, and said, "Please, Lord, send someone else."
Who was greater in the eyes of God? Isaiah or Moses? Neither? Both?
On the face of it, Isaiah certainly seems the greater servant of the two, simply because he was more willing, but didn't they both serve, at great personal sacrifice? Fact is, God desires our willing obedience, but He will have our obedience, willing or not. Just ask Jonah.
Perhaps you, like Moses, struggle with the Lord's command (whatever that might be), but understand that your protestations will never deter His desire for your life, if you are truly His. You may reply, "Send me" or "Send someone else," but if He commands your going, well, you'll go.
I find the doing of the will of God leaves me no time for disputing about His plans. - George MacDonald
