... and Mattithiah, one of the Levites, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with making the flat cakes. - 1 Chronicles 9:31
Do you believe, as I do, that God has a purpose and plan for every person's life?
The concept of a personal God, a God who not only intervenes in the lives of men but also knows the number of hairs on your head, is distinctly Judeo-Christian in origin. Our Scriptures teach that each one of us was created to fulfill God's purpose, and His re-creative power in the life of the believer assures that His purpose is being fulfilled.
Though sometimes your purpose may seem insignificant, like Mattithiah's above, God's investment makes it valuable. Paul wrote to Timothy, "Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work (2 Tim. 2:20-21)."
Whatever you do, it all matters to Him, because you matter to Him.
The Gospels show that Jesus the Messiah is not just the Lord of people who lived two thousand years ago, but is the Lord that you need in your life. - Mark Dever
